International Connections

An evening exploring how to expand your business internationally

At the latest StartEDIN event we visited the theme of how to expand your business internationally.

Hosted on Thursday evening at the charming offices of our venue sponsor, SNX Systems, we attracted a group of successful companies and individuals with international ambitions.

The goal of the event was to provide a practical masterclass on how to develop and implement an international growth strategy whilst emphasising why now is the time to look beyond Scotland for new clients.

Leading the discussion was our two speakers for the evening, Steve Turner and Russell Dalgleish, who began with an introduction on how businesses can minimise risk when expanding into new markets.

It was great to see the room fully engaged and ready to see how the night’s lessons could be applied to their business. Everyone openly shared their business focus, the hurdles they’ve faced and what they wanted to achieve. This allowed Russell and Steve to tailor the masterclass to ensure each individual in the group walked away with valuable connections and takeaways to support their international ambitions.

Some of the key takeaways from the event included:

  • Access to a range of online tools to support international growth
  • A list of resources available to Scottish based companies with international aspirations
  • A step-by-step guide on how to plan, implement and succeed internationally

The night was a great success and I was delighted that StartEDIN had created such an engaging evening for all who attended – especially the attendees who travelled from Stirling and Dundee to join us.

We look forward to our next event on the 25th of January. Keep an eye on our website for updates.
